Upskilling Door Supervisors (Physical Intervention Top Up)
It is a requirement that existing door supervisors who had achieved the pre-QCF Door Supervision qualification
(for example the National Certificate for Door Supervision) to undertake additional training in order to renew
their SIA licence.
You may already have a Door Supervisor qualification and have been asked to complete the Physical Intervention training that was previously not part of the Door Supervisor course you took part in.This course will help you gain the relevant qualification and apply for your SIA Licence successfully. | ![]() |
What does our Upskilling Door Supervisors training involve
what can you expect when attending the course?
This course is a Level 2 award for Upskilling Door Supervisors and is a fully accredited SIA qualification.The course duration is 2 days and within this time frame you will complete your training provided by highly qualified tutors who have years of valuable experience within the Security Industry. This course is taught in a friendly but professional classroom environment.
The Upskilling Door Supervisors course consists of TWO main units which are: Unit 1: Physical Intervention Skills for the Private Security Industry Assessment: Unit 1: This unit is assessed in two parts. Part one is a written and practical test and part two is a written test. Unit 2 is assessed by a 15-question multiple-choice examination. Contact Hours: 12.5 Once you complete the exams they are then assessed by the Examining Body. Linx Security Training will notify you of your results within 3-8 working days from the completion of the course. Once you have completed the course successfully you will then receive your Certificate awarded by the examining body. You will then be able to renew your SIA Licence to legally work as a Door Supervisor or Security Officer.

Physical Intervention – Top up your Door Supervisor Qualification

The Security Industry Authority (SIA) have made it compulsory for all Door Supervisor students to complete Physical Intervention training.
Physical Intervention is part of the Door Supervisor training course as standard. It is mandatory to complete the Physical Intervention unit to successfully qualify as a Door Supervisor. The Unit in Physical Intervention covers techniques needed to deal with difficult situations within the working environment without causing any physical harm to themselves or the public. You will be taught non-violent physical techniques involving common scenarios that a Door Supervisor may expect whilst working within the Security Industry. As much as Physical Intervention will sound daunting to many people at first, this part of the course has been found to be the most enjoyable by most of our students. You will learn techniques to deal with situations in the safest of manner. Our Physical Intervention training takes place in a safe and enjoyable environment to allow you to get the best learning experience and gain invaluable experience. |
